ILOILO CITY — A decomposing body of a man was discovered inside a feed sack floating near Parola Wharf, casting a grim shadow over the Dinagyang Festival tribes competition on Sunday.
Authorities confirmed that the body, retrieved on early morning of Jan. 26, was in an advanced state of decomposition.
Initial findings by the Scene of the Crime Operatives revealed that the victim was approximately 5'5" tall, had shoulder-length hair, a dream catcher tattoo on the back, and tattoos of a skull and rose on a foot.
The sack containing the body also contained rocks and pieces of cyclone wire, which may have been intended to weigh it down.
Police estimate the body had been in the water for around three days.
