It is set for its first Philippine run in September at the Theatre at Solaire.

Since its Broadway debut in 2016, Dear Evan Hansen has touched the hearts of audiences across the globe, with its timely and relevant themes and powerful performances.

We follow Evan Hansen, a high school student with social anxiety who longs for a sense of belonging. When a misunderstanding occurs, Evan invents a role for himself in a tragedy that grows into something bigger than anything he ever imagined. Evan must decide: to tell the truth and lose the life he always wanted and is now within reach, or to cling to the lie he had spun.

With music by the Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award-winning duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land, The Greatest Showman, Snow White) and a book by Steven Levenson, Dear Evan Hansen has won six Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album. – with reports by Bea Gatmaytan/Rappler.com
