CABARROGUIS, Quirino — Farmers’ cooperatives and associations (FCAs) in this province received P20.95 million worth of farm machinery, equipment, facilities, and infrastructure from the Department of Agriculture (DA).
The DA extended this support for FCAs in the towns of Diffun, Aglipay, Cabarroguis, Maddela, and Nagtipunan through the 2025 Agricultural Machinery, Equipment, Facilities, and Infrastructure Projects (Amefip).
“The 2025 Amefip initiative aims to enhance agricultural productivity and resilience in the province,” said DA Regional Executive Director Rose Mary Aquino.

She mentioned that the 2025 Amefip package includes tractors, harvesters, mechanical seeders, drying pavements, greenhouses, solar-powered irrigation systems, and recirculating dryers.
“These interventions are anticipated to decrease labor needs, improve operational efficiency, and boost crop yields,” Aquino stated.
Aquino explained that under the MOA, all FCAs are required to make the equipment accessible to all members, including women and to provide counterpart support or equity to ensure the successful operation and maintenance of the equipment.
She highlighted the national government’s commitment to empowering Filipino farmers through targeted investments, as advocated by DA Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. and President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
“The Amefip is continuing to promote inclusive and sustainable agricultural development in Quirino, leading to a modernized and resilient farming sector for Bagong Pilipinas,” Aquino stated.
Quirino Gov. Dakila Carlo Cua emphasized the importance of collaboration among FCAs in promoting the agricultural goals of Quirino.
He also announced the provincial government’s plan to establish food terminals to support the Amefip and to expand market access for local farmers.
Cecilia Aduca, manager of the Dumanisi ARB Coop., expressed thanks on behalf of the beneficiaries.
“The equipment would help ease land preparation, reduce post-harvest losses during transport, and enable farmers to secure better prices for their produce,” Aduca said.
