MANILA, Philippines — The milestones continue to flow for local band Cup of Joe thanks to their hit track "Multo".

As of publishing time, the song has reached 513 million plays on Spotify, making it the most-streamed Filipino song on the streaming platform.

The previous holder was Up Dharma Down's 2012 track "Tadhana", which is currently holding several thousand streams under 513 million plays.

"Tadhana" just crossed the 500 million mark last month, making it a more impressive feat by "Multo" as it did the same in record time having been released in September 2024.

The closest competitor to either song is Arthur Nery's "Isa Lang", which currently has 444 million plays on Spotify.

"Tadhana" was featured on Up Dharma Down's third album "Capacities" although it appeared on the soundtrack for 2010 series "Ilumina" as the band's former vocalist Armi Millare was the show's theme music composer.

The song was later used in the soundtrack for 2014's "That Thing Called Tadhana" and has been covered multiple times by other artists.

"Multo" was the lead single off Cup of Joe's debut album "Silakbo" which officially released in January 2025.

The track won Song of the Year at the inaugural Filipino Music Awards, where "Silakbo" won Album of the Year honors, and featured on the soundtrack for the series "Ang Mutya ng Section E".

It continues to draw popularity after Cup of Joe releases a stripped-down version of "Multo" for romance film "The Loved One".

With the Viva Music Group's 2022 acquisition of Terno Recordings (which released "Tadhana"), both tracks are now owned by Viva.
