Iain Glen at a table reading for 'Quezon.'

The Scottish actor goes from Jorah Mormont in 'Game of Thrones' to governor-general in 'Quezon'
MANILA, Philippines – The Jerrold Tarog-directed historical biopic Quezon is shaping up to be a star-studded production as Game of Thrones star Iain Glen joins its cast!
On Monday, March 17, TBA Studios announced that the Scottish actor would be playing Governor-General Leonard Wood — a casting that Tarog says makes the film “much more alive.”
“[Iain Glen] has gravitas. But at the same time, he can let loose, which is important for the role of Leonard Wood,” Tarog said about his decision to cast Glen.
Glen, who played Jorah Mormont in Game of Thrones, met with the biopic’s cast earlier this year at the Manila Hotel for a script reading.

Glen’s addition to the cast comes just after Jericho Rosales was revealed to be taking on the lead role as Manuel L. Quezon.
Quezon will follow the life of former president Manuel L. Quezon, whose term ran from 1935 to 1944. He was the first president of the Commonwealth of the Philippines, and had also been a lawyer and soldier. It is expected to highlight Quezon’s presidential campaign against Emilio Aguinaldo.
The film is part of Tarog’s Bayaniverse, a collection of films that spotlights key figures in Philippine history. Other films from the Bayaniverse are Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral, which tells the story of Gregorio del Pilar; and Heneral Luna for Antonio Luna.
Other cast members include Mon Confiado, who will play Emilio Aguinaldo; and Benjamin Alves, who will portray the younger version of Quezon, reprsising their roles in Heneral Luna and Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral.
Meanwhile, Karylle Yuzon will portray Aurora Quezon, the titular character’s wife. Romnick Sarmenta will play Sergio Osmeña, while JC Santos will assume the role of Manuel Roxas. Cris Villanueva is also stepping up to play the older Joven Hernando, who is known as the only fictional character in the Bayaniverse.
Quezon is starting production this month. While an exact premiere date has yet to be announced, the film will hit local cinemas within the year. – Rappler.com
