ADMITTEDLY with nary a single political cell in his body, Vic Sotto — more popularly known as Bossing — made a rare yet anticipated appearance at the grand campaign rally in Pasig City where his son Vico filed his reelection bid as local executive.
If the 35-year-old enigmatic mayoral aspirant anew makes it to the May 12 polls, Vico will serve his third term until 2028 — and God knows what happens next.
Bossing's intro, however, proved to be an affirmation, more than a prophesy. Without a tinge of doubt, the TV host addressed Vico as "the country's next President!"
The "Eat Bulaga" pioneer, in fairness, didn't take the credit all to himself as he jested: "You already know where he got it from... his mother!"
Vic all the more held the mammoth crowd in a jubilant mode, expectant of his punchline.

With the nation set to hold the next Presidential elections in 2028, Vico's throngs of diehard supporters are in for a big disappointment though. Vico will only have turned 38 by then — short of two years as per age qualification.
There seems to be no rush, after all. If he feels he needs to bend over backwards, Vico by then will be ripe for a seat at the august halls of the Senate.
Following in the footsteps of his uncle Tito Sotto, a most likely scenario would be just that.
One can easily foretell Vico's political trajectory.
What practically sets him head and shoulders above all the others is that we hear no howls of protest. Neither resistance nor violent reactions.
Credit goes to Vico's roots. The bigger trophy though goes to his mom and former TV/film personality Coney Reyes.
Even during her career heydays, I can't recall Coney having infamously been embroiled in a serious scandal (even if there had been animosity between her and Dina Bonnevie several years back).
For this, I won't even dare split hairs over Bossing's manner of intro. Vico's spotless track record will speak for itself.
Only that Vico needs to shake off "those tiny, unwanted uncular particles" that may haunt him in chasing his presidential dream (if you know what I mean).

GUESS who?
A popular comedienne (PC) can be stubborn as a mule.
In her TV guesting that coincided with her birthday, the PC swore it would be her last time to talk about her marriage gone sideways.
It was a promise though the PC wittingly broke herself. Repeatedly after her guesting, she went on to curse her estranged partner, spilling the tea about the latter's infidelity.
The PC proved to be incorrigible that her closest gay celebrity friend (CF) couldn't do anything to stop her. Peeved, the CF was quoted to have told their common friends: "Bahala na siya sa buhay niya! Gusto niyang magpaka-cheap, let her be!"
To this day, the PC has yet to put an end to her vengeful stance to the point of even hitting up or calling reporter-friends to air her grievances.
"What's new?!" whinged one of them.
