COTABATO CITY — Policemen seized five kilos of shabu worth P34 million from three dealers, one of them from Bangsamoro province, who were entrapped on Tuesday afternoon, May 12, in an underground parking area of a mall in Barangay Zone IV, Zamboanga City.

Local executives told reporters on Wednesday, May 13, that all three men arrested during the entrapment operation, Kashmir Ibno Hayudini, Adong Ybañez Ebang, who hails from Bongao, the capital of Tawi-Tawi in the Bangsamoro region and Ardison Salim Palajuddin, are now detained in a police facility.

Palajuddin is from Barangay Tulay in Jolo town, Sulu, which was originally under the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region but is now under the Police Regional Office 9 after the Supreme Court removed the province from the core territory of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao two years ago, following a petition filed by then Gov. Hadji Abdusakur Tan Sr., now the vice governor.

Officials of the PRO-BAR officials confirmed to reporters on Wednesday that Ebang and Palajuddin are large-scale shabu dealers in Tawi-Tawi and Sulu, respectively, and that Hayudini, a resident of Zamboanga city, is their accomplice in their narcotics trafficking activities in the Zamboanga peninsula in Administrative Region 9 and in the island provinces of Basilan and Tawi-Tawi, both in BARMM.

Police Brig. Gen. Edwin Quilates, director of PRO-BAR, said on Wednesday that the three suspects were immediately arrested by plainclothes policemen from the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 9, led by Lt. Col. Moh Madzdie-Aziz Mukaram, and personnel of different units of the Zamboanga City Police Office after selling shabu to them at the basement parking facility of the Southway Square Mall in Barangay Zone IV.
