MANILA, Philippines — A police officer is in hot water after driving a coaster into the EDSA carousel and hitting a passenger bus on Friday.

The incident, which was recorded by a bus passenger and uploaded online, has gained over 20,000 reactions on social media yesterday.

Passengers were overheard in the video criticizing the unnamed policeman for driving a police-marked coaster inside the carousel – a lane exclusively designated for commuter buses – and for asking for the bus driver’s license.

The Quezon City Police District said the accident occurred along the northbound lane of EDSA near Main Avenue in Barangay Socorro. The QCPD said no one was injured although both vehicles sustained damage.

While the policeman and the bus driver agreed to an amicable settlement, the QCPD said it would investigate the incident and initiate administrative and legal actions, if needed.

“Notwithstanding the settlement, the QCPD continues to review the incident to ensure full compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations,” it said in a statement.
