Fiber broadband and technology provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. launched on Monday, Feb. 17, a new digital solution aimed at innovating patient care and guest experience at St. Luke's Medical Center (SLMC).

During a media launch at SLMC-Global City in Taguig, Converge debuted the first look into its Fiber to the Room (FTTR) technology branded as the St. Luke's In-Room Digital Concierge.

The new digital solution is essentially an in-room entertainment and information hub accessible through the smart TV, designed to achieve maximum functionality.

Through a Converge-powered digital smart box, patients can seamlessly access their medical records, test results, and treatment plans in real time via a personalized eHealth access.

This includes a bill management system that would allow patients to review and pay their hospital bills with just a few taps.

A smart entertainment hub is also offered, wherein free TV channels, streaming services, music, and interactive games are available.

In a statement, Converge Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Co-Founder Dennis Uy said its new technology at SLMC is in recognition that hospitality is becoming a primary focus on healthcare institutions.

“This is to bring a wow experience and that’s what hospitality means,” Uy told reporters.

For his part, SLMC President and CEO Dennis Serrano recognized the In-Room Digital Concierge as a “revolutionary” moment for the health institution.

“This is not only exciting, this is also revolutionary. I feel that we have turned the term hospital to be hospitality,” said Serrano.

“Given what the patients spend for healthcare, this is something that we really owe them. We have to give them a seamless experience,” he added, noting that this will allow patients to only focus on their recovery.

Converge’s In-Room Digital Concierge has already been deployed to over 400 rooms at SLMC in Taguig, with nearly 400 rooms at SLMC in Quezon City already undergoing activation.

Serrano said the the soon-to-rise SLMC in Parañaque City will also be home to this new technology.

Meanwhile, Uy noted that SLMC is just the start of Converge’s mission to turn hospitals into hospitality-driven institutions for patients.

Last year, the company launched the Converge Content+, an internet-based TV solution that caters the hospitality industry, particularly hotels.

In 2025, Converge aims to expands its slate of Enterprise and Wholesale products with its technology partners to bring on innovative solutions to businesses in the Philippines.

Uy said his ultimate dream for the company is to connect every Filipino digitally by 2030.
