MANILA, Philippines — With a strong emphasis on giving a “transparent, credible and rewarding experience for its consumers," a formal awarding ceremony was hosted by a soap brand as the culmination for its “Holiday Millionaire” campaign.
The event was held at Kojie.san’s headquarters in Makati City, recognizing the two grand-prize winners, namely, Kiven Klyde Terania, 19, a former maritime student from Negros Occidental, who had to drop out of school due to financial constraints; and Patris Ape, 20, a third-year college student in Caloocan, but whose roots are in Negros Oriental.
Asked what they will do with their million pesos, Terania replied: “I will probably go into business. But I would still help my parents plant sugar cane in our province.”
As the eldest of six, Ape, for her part, promised: “I will help pay for the tuition of my siblings.”
Marketing director Nikki Filio said the company didn’t feel the need to offer financial advice to the winners on how to manage their sudden windfall.
“But we had a talk with them to make sure that their families know about it. Because at the end of the day, it's really about them and how they are able to use the money either for themselves or their family. It's really ultimately their decision. But at least we were able to have interaction with the family,” explained Filio.
“Kojie.san is not just about skin care. It's really about being part of everyday moments for these consumers. Being part of the moments that shape how they feel about themselves. Moments that reward, with rewards that feel accessible, relatable, and meaningful," Filio added.
Unlike in promotional efforts in the past, the just-concluded campaign was designed for ease of entry: the promo featured a simple QR code system through Facebook Messenger. Every scan of the receipt gave participants, who purchased a minimum of P100 worth of products, a shot at instant rewards — including its beauty products, GCash credits, and shopping vouchers for Lazada, Shopee, and TikTok Shop. This also automatically entered them for the ?1 million grand prize, which was tax-free.
