Chris Hemsworth as Thor in "Avengers: Doomsday"

Marvel Studios

MANILA, Philippines — Marvel Studios dropped a new teaser trailer for its upcoming blockbuster "Avengers: Doomsday," this time centering on Chris Hemsworth's Thor.

The Thor teaser comes on the heels of an initial video that confirmed the return of Chris Evans to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Steve Rogers, a character last seen in 2019's "Avengers: Endgame."

The new teaser similarly has a slowed-down piano version of the "Avengers" theme and takes on fatherly route, but this time there is audible dialogue as Thor prays to Odin (previously played by Anthony Hopkins) in a forest.

"Father, all my life, I have answered every call... to honor, duty, war," Thor prays on one knee by his Stormbreaker weapon. "But now fate has given me something I never sought... a child, a life untouched by the storm."

Thor is referring to Love, the daughter of Gorr the God Butcher whom Thor adopted as his own at the end of 2022's "Thor: Love and Thunder" after being revived by Eternity.

Love is still portrayed by Hemsworth's own daughter India Rose, as seen in clips of Thor and his daughter in the latter's bedroom.

"Lend me the strength of the All-Fathers so that I may fight once more, defeat one more enemy, and return home to her," Thor ends as thunder cracks above him. "Not as a warrior but as warmth, to teach her not battle but stillness, the kind I never knew. Please Father, heed my words."

The enemy Thor may be referring to is Dr. Doom, who will be played by Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. in a large gamble by Marvel Studios to electrify the franchise.

Unlike Evans, Hemsworth was already confirmed to appear in "Avengers: Doomsday" following a large cast reveal last March, though at the time he was only the member of the original "Avengers" cast named other than Downey Jr.

Newer "Avengers" confirmed to be in the cast are Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, Wyatt Russell, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, Lewis Pullman, Danny Ramirez, David Harbour, Winston Duke and Hannah John-Kamen.

Rounding out the cast are  Vanessa Kirby, Tenoch Huerta Mejía, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Kelsey Grammer, Joseph Quinn, Tom Hiddleston, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, Channing Tatum and Pedro Pascal.
