TUGUEGARAO CITY — A group of Chinese and Taiwanese investors has proposed to the provincial government of Cagayan to establish cold storage, ice plants and solar farms.
William Zhao, SN Green Energy Inc. chairman, and Kevin Lu, Zeijang CHNT Energy Development Co. LDT director, met with Gov. Manuel Mamba and Ret. Gen. Edgar "Manong Egay" Aglipay, and the provincial government de-partment heads, to convey their planned projects for the province.
Accompanied by Officer-in-Charge Engr. Arsenio Antonio of the Provincial Agriculture Office, the investors also vis-ited the main fish ports in Claveria and Santa Ana coastal towns.
Antonio said that Cagayan fishermen need an ice plant or cold storage facilities to store more fish they catch.
He said this opportunity is expected to provide a solution to the problem faced by fishermen in the province.

"Our fishermen are often unable to store their caught fish for a long time because there is not enough cooling facil-ities," said Antonio.
"The fish we get cannot be stocked for a long time due to lack of facilities and what we get from the sea is sold im-mediately lower than the market price," said Antonio.
According to Antonio, their fishermen sometimes prefer not to go out to the sea to catch fish due to lack of cold storage in their respective communities, and to avoid ending up with wasted fish catch.
"Once these facilities materialize, fishermen will have higher production and income," added Antonio.
Meanwhile, the coming of more investors in the province was made possible due to the efforts of Aglipay who has been inviting big businesses from other countries to invest in Cagayan.
