Chella Falconer, who was meant to represent Cebu Province in Miss Universe Philippines 2025, has announced her withdrawal from the pageant.
The aspiring beauty queen bared her decision in an Instagram post, and said the first month and a half of her Miss Universe Philippines 2025 journey "has been nothing short of amazing."
"From the incredible experiences to the wonderful moments shared with the MUPH staff and my fellow candidates, (so beautiful inside out btw). I have cherished every second,” Chella said, adding that despite her journey coming to an early close, her heart is full of gratitude.
Chella then thanked everyone who supported her on her pageantry journey.
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart. This may be a pause, but growth isn’t always reaching the finish line; sometimes it’s about knowing when to take a different path,” she said.
She also debunked the rumors saying that she likewise backed out from the Miss World Philippines because she never underwent screening for it.
“This is my first time stepping away from a national competition. Just to set the record straight—I never screened for MWP, so the rumors about me backing out from it aren’t true. It was Miss Elite World (International Comp) that I didn’t pursue but there was a reason for that,” she said.
Chella is the second Miss Universe Philippines candidate to withdraw from the competition after Hannah Michelle Gilmore of Los Angeles in February.
Following Chella’s withdrawal, 67 candidates are now vying for the Miss Universe Philippines 2025 crown.
Previously, the organization announced the Top 10 candidates for swimsuit showcase.
The Miss Universe Philippines 2025 coronation night will be held on May 2, 6 p.m., at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The winner will be crowned by Miss Universe Philippines 2024 and reigning Miss Universe Asia Chelsea Manalo, and will represent the Philippines in Miss Universe 2025, which will take place on November 21 at the Impact Muong Thong Thani Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
