Chariz Solomon has made her art exhibit debut.
Her sculpture, “May Dusa,” was among the pieces presented at the “Kontra Bida” exhibit in Faculty Projects, Kapitolyo, Pasig City. The actress and comedienne’s artwork was under her real name, Charyze Pagotan.
Chariz presented an ivory sculpture featuring a woman’s screaming face in the middle. She has snakes in her hair, like the mythological character, Medusa.
On Instagram, Chariz also revealed that it was Michael V. who named the piece “May Dusa.”
Carla Abellana, Chynna Ortaleza, Mikoy Morales, Sheena Halili, and Ashley Rivera praised Chariz’s sculpture on Instagram.
“Kontra Bida” opened on April 3 and will run until May 3. It is curated by Jun Sabayton and also featured pieces by Bijan Gorospe, Jeje Santos, Lourd De Veyra, and Ryan Sandagon.
The exhibit aims to start the conversation on who the real villains are, and how they are portrayed in films, society, and politics.
Chariz’s first sculpture was her rendition of “The Last Supper,” which gained praise from her fellow celebrities.
