CARCAR CITY, Cebu — The Cebu Provincial Board is once again complete with the oath-taking of Kathleen Daan as its newest member on Monday.
Daan will represent Cebu's first legislative district in the board, succeeding her late mother-in-law Yolanda Daan who passed away in November 2024.
Yolanda Daan, who died at age 72, was widely recognized for her commitment to public service and her advocacy programs for health and community welfare. Throughout her career, she championed programs to address tuberculosis, dengue, and leptospirosis.
Her death marked the end of a long period of service to the people of Cebu's first district, a region that includes the cities of Carcar, Talisay and Naga, along with the towns of Minglanilla, San Fernando and Sibonga.
The younger Daan, wife of Talisay City Councilor Lester Daan, had worked as her mother-in-law's chief of staff and her appointment ensures continuity in leadership and advocacy in the district.
