MANILA, Philippines — Cassandra Ong, one of the key players in the Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs) controversy, is in the Philippines, according to the Palace on Tuesday, December 2.

Ong is currently considered a fugitive after being charged with qualified human trafficking.

The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) recently stated that they last tracked Ong in Japan.

However, the Palace said that based on the Department of Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) information, Ong is still inside the Philippines.

“Kung sinuman din po sa mga kababayan natin ang makakakita kay Cassandra Ong ipagbigay-alam din po agad sa ating law enforcement agencies para po magampanan din po ang pagsi-serve ng warrant of arrest sa kaniya,” Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said.

(Whoever one of our countrymen sees Cassandra Ong, please inform enforcement agencies so that they can serve her the arrest warrant.)

Philstar.com has reached out to the DILG for more information about the conflicting reports between them and the PAOCC and will update the story when they respond.

The Department of Justice has offered a P1 million reward for information on Ong.

Ong was initially detained by the House of Representatives but was released when the 19th Congress ended.

Her arrest warrant for qualified human trafficking came after she was released by the House.
