MANILA, Philippines — Before the year ends, minimum wage earners and domestic workers in the Cordillera Autonomous Region (CAR) are getting a pay hike, the National Wages and Productivity Commission announced.
The NWPC said the new wage order granting the salary adjustments will take effect on Dec. 30. The order sets the monthly minimum wage for domestic workers at P6,600, or an increase of P600 from the previous rate.
The daily minimum wage for workers in private firms will be P505 from the previous P470.
The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board in CAR previously approved a P35 increase in the daily pay of minimum wage earners.
