Trisha Genesis will now be donning the Solar Spikers uniform as she signs with Capital1 ahead of the 2024-2025 PVL All-Filipino Conference, the team announced on Friday, January 17.

Genesis’ arrival adds depth to the struggling Capital1, which currently sits at the 10th spot in the 12-team conference with a 1-4 record. 

The 5-foot-7 spiker signed with Nxled Chameleons during the 2023 Reinforced Conference but was left out of their lineup for the ongoing All-Filipino tournament, making her a free agent. 

Genesis brings a decorated college resume, including an MVP and Best Outside Spiker nods during the Adamson Lady Falcons’ title run in the PVL Collegiate Conference in 2019.

She turned professional in 2022, joining the Akari Chargers, but has not reached the same success since. 

In Capital1, Genesis is expected to provide help for the Solar Spikers’ core headlined by Leila Cruz, Roma Mae Doromal, Des Clemente, and seasoned setter Iris Tolenada. 

Genesis will also be under the guidance of well-respected champion coach Roger Gorayeb.
