CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines — The 66-year-old vice mayor of Guinsiliban town in Camiguin was arrested during a joint operation with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the Philippine National Police said.

According to the PNP, operatives served a search warrant on the official’s house in Purok 3 in Barangay North Poblacion on Wednesday.

Police said five heat-sealed plastic sachets containing shabu worth P102,000 were confiscated during the search, along with a 9mm pistol with one magazine, 22 bullets, two cellphones and assorted drug paraphernalia.

PDEA regional director Alex Tablate identified the official only as Tata.

Guinsiliban’s vice mayor is Helario “Tata” Abecia. He is the town’s former mayor.
