BSP data: OFW remittances go to food, basic needs

MANILA, Philippines — As overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) send more remittances ahead of this year’s Christmas season, new data from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) showed how these resources continue to shape household survival. The BSP’s 3rd Quarter Consumer Expectation Survey indicated that basic needs still dominate how families use remittances, with 94.8 percent
