Mark, the eight-year-old boy with visual, hearing, and dental problems, was brought to medical specialists by the GMA Kapuso Foundation so he could have his conditions checked.
According to "24 Oras" Wednesday, among the specialists who examined him was developmental pediatrician Dr. Jocelyn Eusebio.
"Diagnosis sa kaniya is still intellectual disability. Kaya natin ine-emphasize sa mga parents na 'pag sila ay buntis dapat healthy sila," she said.
He also had to take the Griffiths test, which measures a child's development skills.
"Sa edad niya na eight years three months, ang kakayahan niya sa pag-identify ng letters nasa four-and-a-half [years old], pagdating naman sa pagsusulat nasa four-and-a-half to five years old," added Dr. Eusebio.
Dr. Mat Geronimo, an ophthalmologist, also said that Mark has vision problems at his age, so he had to get fitted for prescription eyeglasses by an optometrist.
"Hindi rin pantay 'yung grado ng left and right," said Dr. Geronimo.
Meanwhile, the Ledesma Audiological Center found that Mark has weak hearing in both ears, so he will be needing hearing aid.
Dentist Dr. Emil Santos, on the other hand, will be taking care of Mark's dental issues.
Mark is also in need of nutritional buildup, so he received groceries, milk, and medicines from the GMA Kapuso Foundation.
"Mababa po talaga 'yung ating timbang sa edad po niya, mababa po 'yung kaniyang height sa edad po niya, so meron po tayong tinatawag na severe malnutrition," said Dr. Joselyn Agonoy.
For those who wish to support Mark, donations may be made to GMA Kapuso Foundation via Metrobank, Land Bank, BDO, Bank of Commerce, UnionBank, PNB, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Lazada, and Shopee. Visit the GMA Kapuso Foundation website for more information.
