Bong Revilla Jr., the action star, takes a bow for now

Senator Bong Revilla Jr.'s seven-episode long titled series "Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis" on GMA culminated last Sunday.

Probably the shortest series ever on primetime TV, Tolome has to end as the actor-politician — a re-electionist — gears up for the gruelling campaign set to kick off next week.

On its Season 3, this is Bong's fans and supporters' last glimpse of him before — well, hopefully — he steps into another political challenge.

Consistently making it to the top list of senatorial candidates in surveys, the chinky-eyed charismatic lawmaker hopes to take farther — and further — where he left off.

If you're wondering if he purposely didn't field an entry to last year's Metro Manila Film Festival, it was because he had bigger plans in store for slambang flick suckers out there this 2025.

True to his promise, Bong is determined to get his hands on his iconic "Alyas Pogi 3." There's also one with Megastar Sharon Cuneta.

Quite sadly though, there appears to be a remote chance to do a local version of Hollywood's "Expendables" originally intended for him et al with Coco Martin at the helm.

Chances are, this ambitious project will have to take a backseat as this is going to be a busy month ahead for Coco.

Now on its second year, "Batang Quiapo" is Coco's top priority. Knowing how seriously focused the actor-director on his career, Coco is not about to let any other project interfere with this FPJ classic material.

One thing's for certain, action lovers will get to see more of Bong on screen.

There's no telling yet whether or not Michelle Dy will make good her promise to join Miss Grand Philippines.

Having first joined Miss World Philippines and later Miss Universe Philippines, her mom 1979 Miss International Melanie Marquez apparently does not approve of her daughter's plan.

Melanie sees no need for Michelle to take her chances: "What for? Joining MWP and MPU is more than enough she doesn't have to prove anything!"

Melanie though sounds a bit too condescending on what she regards as an "inferior" beauty pageant: "It's not a prestigious as the ones Michelle had previously joined."

Aside from believing in the "Mother knows best" truism, let's face it, Michelle even winning the MGP title won't add up. Why settle for a beauty title of lesser magnitude?

Pageant aficionados can only wish for Michelle to rethink her decision.

GUESS who? This celebrity mom (CM) has perennially been every entertainment writer's favorite interviewee.

Known for her quotable quotes, the CM will sure give well-known quotation book authors a run for her money.

One thing oddly nice about her, the CM can even afford to laugh off her slip-ups.

Once a writer shot a question: "What do you think would you have been had you not entered showbiz?"

With an air of confidence, the CM gave a snappy answer: "If I didn't get into showbiz, I would have been a lawyer...and a very good lawyer at that!"

Call it attitude. As for the writer, he almost fell off the chair.
