BAGUIO CITY , Philippines —­ A bomb threat disrupted classes at the University of the Philippines in this city yesterday, prompting students, workers and faculty members to evacuate.

UP officials ordered the evacuation at around 12:15 p.m., with members of the university community heading to the Baguio Convention Center grounds.

The threat was reportedly sent to a school organization and specifically mentioned students, faculty members and activists in the university community.

School officials ordered the campus cleared to ensure safety as members of the police bomb disposal unit inspected buildings and facilities.
