MANILA, Philippines — The provincial government of Bataan and the Board of Investments (BOI) have teamed up to position the province as a hub for advanced technology, semiconductors and electronics.
In a statement yesterday, the BOI said the 1Bataan Semiconductor and Electronics Summit was recently conducted with the provincial government of Bataan to explore opportunities and strategies for developing a strong semiconductor and electronics ecosystem in the province.
For the BOI, Bataan can serve as a location for investments in the semiconductor and electronics sector.
“The semiconductor and electronics sector accounts for more than half of the country’s merchandise exports and remains a cornerstone of our industrial strategy. Bataan’s proactive approach and strong fundamentals make it an attractive destination for global players,” BOI managing head and Trade Undersecretary Ceferino Rodolfo said.
Bataan Rep. Maria Angela Garcia said the province is ready to welcome investors.
“Bataan is prepared to provide the infrastructure, policies and partnerships needed to support high-value industries. We are committed to creating an environment where businesses can thrive and communities can benefit from sustainable growth,” Garcia said.
