(UPDATE) NAIC, Cavite — The body of a law student of the De La Salle University, who had been missing since June 8, was found in a vacant lot in Barangay Sapa in this town on Saturday.
The victim, identified as Anthony Banayad Granada, 25, was reportedly last seen leaving his condominium along C-5 Road in Taguig City from where he boarded a Grab vehicle bound for Naic town.
In a CCTV footage, the victim was seen walking along Lopez Jaena Bridge on June 17 at around 9:20 p.m., police said.
The Naic police received a report of a body in "advanced state of decomposition" on June 21 at a vacant lot in Barangay Sapa.
The victim's disappearance on June 8 quickly spread on social media as his family begged for help to find Granada. Authorities had also sought public assistance to locate Anthony, who was last seen wearing a white sweater and blue jogging pants.

The victim's body was positively identified by Granada's father, Ricky.
Naic policemen found one bottle of solution intended for dissolving grease and organic matter near the victim.
The police are investigating to determine how the victim ended up in the area.
The victim's personal belonging, such as cellular phone and other items, were found intact during the crime scene processing.
A thorough investigation is now being conducted, led by the forensic unit of Cavite province and the assigned investigator-on-case, to determine the cause of death.
The remains were brought to Imperial Funeral Homes in Barangay San Agustin, Trece Martires, for autopsy and DNA testing.
All recovered personal belongings have been turned over to the victim's family.
