MANILA, Philippines — Bloomberry Resorts Corp., owned by tycoon Enrique Razon Jr., is betting even bigger on its online gaming platform as the company prepares to relaunch megaFUNalo! under a new name this month, with the hope of seeing its profitability as early as next year.

Razon, chairman and CEO of Bloomberry, said megaFUNalo! will be relaunched as FUNaloMAX this month.

“We are cautiously optimistic for the revenue impact of our vastly improved megaFUNalo! platform that could go live in the coming weeks,” Razon said during the company’s annual stockholders’ meeting yesterday.

“We will start pushing it very hard once we are sure that there are no technical issues. And it looks like it’s performing very well, and we will push hard and market this new platform, which is more attractive for users and more user-friendly. Most of the technical issues of megaFUNalo! previously have been ironed out,” he said.

MegaFUNalo! is a Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR)-licensed online gaming platform introduced by Bloomberry last year to compete directly with offerings of other electronic gaming license holders.

In 2025, Razon said the online space remained a constructive endeavor with mixed results from Bloomberry’s two online products.

“Solaire Online, our premium online gaming offering, contributed to a healthy and stable GGR (gross gaming revenue), underscoring the resilience of the platform. However, our broad-mass product, megaFUNalo! encountered early-stage platform issues. These have now been addressed, and work continues to improve user experience,” he said.

Razon said it is possible that megaFUNalo! “could be positive next year,” at the earliest.

Meanwhile, Razon sees 2026 as another challenging year for on-premise gaming in the Philippines, particularly in Metro Manila.

Razon said digitalization remained the defining theme of 2025 with PAGCOR data showing online gaming overtaking on-premise gaming as the largest contributor to GGR.

He said land-based operators, meanwhile, continued to face cyclical challenges, notably weak tourism flows and subdued VIP and premium mass demand.

While Bloomberry sees pockets of opportunity for on-premise GGR recovery, Razon said the company’s focus in 2026 would be on cost management and discipline.

“However, our focus for the year will be on cost-cutting, becoming more efficient and disciplined in our expenditure. We have cut the capex budget considerably, and this will be the focus of the year, bringing down costs while improving our offerings, promotions, and marketing. And we hope that by 2027, we’ll see the fruits of our labor in this area,” he said.

Still, Razon said Bloomberry would continue to assert its competitive market standing amid evolving industry challenges, anchored by the strength and prestige of the Solaire brand.

“Our signature on-premise gaming and integrated resort offerings set the benchmark for premium entertainment, while expanding our online gaming platforms extend the company’s reach and engagement. Together, these strengths reinforce Bloomberry’s leadership position and support sustainable, long-term value creation,” he said.
