MANILA, Philippines — Pinoy music took center stage at The Clubhouse at The Palace in Bonifacio Global City, as the industry gathered to celebrate the launch of The Official Philippines Chart — an industry-backed ranking system recognizing the country’s top artists and songs.

The star-studded event brought together rising stars and some of today’s biggest names in the OPM scene, including BINI, TJ Monterde, Ben&Ben and Maki, who took home accolades from the newly-launched music chart.

The Official Philippines Chart, supported by Philippine Recorded Music (PRM) Rights, Inc. and the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), highlights the top-performing tracks from both local and international artists, based on streaming data from across major platforms.

The new chart reflects evolving music trends, not just weekly data. It is released every Tuesday on www.officialseacharts.com and Official SEA Charts’ Instagram and Facebook channels and is one of six regional charts, alongside Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and Malaysia.

The chart recognizes the artists’ years of hard work and dedication, celebrating their well-deserved place among the Top 10 Local Songs and Artists of 2024.

Fresh off their sold-out “BINIverse” 2025 world tour kickoff at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan, BINI was honored as the Top Local Artist of the Year.

Their hit songs Salamin, Salamin and Pantropiko also earned the No. 4 and No. 5 spots in the Top 10 Local Songs of the Year’s list, respectively.

The Nation’s Girl Group composed of Jhoanna, Aiah, Colet, Gwen, Maloi, Mikha, Stacey and Sheena, also charmed the audience with their live performance of their latest single, Blink Twice.

BINI expressed their gratitude for the recognition, calling it their motivation to further elevate Filipino music globally. The octet shared the honor with their team, management, families and devoted fans, also known as Blooms.

TJ Monterde’s Palagi is Local Song of the Year.

“Ang award po na ito ay para sa lahat dreamers, sa lahat ng Blooms na nakikisayaw and nakikikanta sa amin. If not for them, we will not be here,” said the group’s leader, Jhoanna.

“To our fellow OPM artists, thank you po for your support and love for BINI. We super appreciate it. Let’s continue making our local music scene thrive. Mabuhay ang musikang Pilipino,” she added.

Meanwhile, TJ’s Palagi claimed the Local Song of the Year Award. The singer-songwriter was also awarded as the No. 7 Local Artist of The Year.

TJ, who recently made history as the first Filipino male act to sell out three consecutive shows at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, let the intimate crowd sing along as he performed his hits Palagi and Tulad Mo.

“This past year has really been phenomenal and inspiring. I’m grateful to all my Bituins (fans) for growing alongside me over the years. I’m incredibly excited for the future of OPM in the years to come,” he said.

Meanwhile, in an interview with The STAR on the red carpet, Top 8 Local Artist of the Year Maki, whose song Dilaw ranked as the Top 2 Local Song of the Year, expressed joy over how artists in the industry have been uplifting one another through camaraderie and mutual support.

Maki was a guest performer at the major concerts of fellow The Official Philippines Chart awardees BINI, TJ and pop-rock band Cup of Joe this month.

“It goes to show how people in the industry like me and my other friends are very much supportive of each other, and I think that’s the best way to express our love to each other,” said Maki.
