MANILA, Philippines – ABS-CBN’s documentary on the rise of P-pop sensation BINI has been shortlisted for the 2025 New York Festivals TV & Film Awards in the Best Documentary-Biography and Profiles category!

BINI Chapter 1: Born to Win, produced by iWantOriginals and ABS-CBN News Documentaries, chronicles the girl group’s inspiring journey — from their grueling Star Hunt Academy auditions in 2019 to their first sold-out concert, BINIverse.

The documentary offers an intimate look at the experiences of BINI members Jhoanna, Maloi, Gwen, Mikha, Aiah, Colet, Sheena, and Stacey, highlighting their defining moments, rigorous training, personal struggles, and collective triumphs as they worked toward global success.

Helmed by filmmaker Jet Leyco, written by ABS-CBN chief of reporters Jeff Canoy, and edited by Brian Gonzales, the film is produced by Karen Namora, Hera Sanchez, and Tanya Navarro.

It also marks ABS-CBN News’ first feature-length documentary in four years.

Winners will be announced at a storytelling gala on May 22.
