The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) has issued safety reminders for avoiding house fire incidents.

According to “24 Oras,” Friday, the BFP logged 3,114 fire incidents from January 1 to March 14, 2025.

Here are some fire prevention tips from the BFP:

1. Unplug appliances that are not being used and avoid octopus connections.

2. Avoid smoking inside the house and stay away from flammable items.

3. Don’t leave the stove behind while cooking, and make sure that the LPG tank is properly closed after use.

4. Should a fire break out, immediately exit the area on fire and call 911.

“I-alarm ang ibang occupants. Hindi tayo papasok sa CR, ano po, dahil ‘yung conception na may tubig doon, mali po ‘yon. At nakalabas ka na, ‘wag na ‘wag ka nang babalik ng iyong tahanan. Leave it to the responders,” BFP-NHQ spokesperson and chief public information services Fssupt. Annalee Carbajal-Atienza said.

Aside from helping during fire incidents, members of the BFP are also among those who participate in GMA Kapuso Foundation’s bloodletting projects.
