MANILA, Philippines — Pageant queens, beauty clinic founders and medical experts recently gathered at the Prestige Beauty Congress 2026 in Discover Suites Manila, where discussions on medical aesthetics were paired with a strong push for collaboration over competition among women in the industry.
Organized by Jessa Macaraig, the event featured talks on beauty and the latest in medical aesthetics led by doctors Tosca Camille Selbert-Guiao, Cecil Catapang, Homer Mendoza and Ma. Esperanza Tubban.
In an interview with the media, doctors Guiao, Tubban and Mendoza highlighted the most recent trends in beauty and wellness, such as weight loss injectables and advanced beauty treatments, while reminding brand owners to always practice safety and seek out professionals.
“We consistently remind patients that weight loss management is unique to each person. Before purchasing any weight loss injections, you should be aware of your medical history. Ask your doctors. And, because there are so many counterfeit products available online, you must exercise extreme caution while purchasing.And once you're doing it, you'll need to eat well and exercise,” Guiao said.
Tubban noted that, beyond facial procedures, many women are increasingly exploring vaginal rejuvenation as well as treatments aimed at lightening and smoothing the skin in intimate areas.
“Many women desire to feel confident. Women in my clinic happily inquire about these personal procedures without shame, which is encouraging because our private parts are an important part of our beauty. There's nothing wrong with wanting them to look good,” she said.
Mendoza concluded by emphasizing the importance of choosing ingredients that are suitable for each individual’s skin type.
“These days, everyone wants to appear youthful. Although there is nothing wrong with that, people should be careful about what they apply to their skin. And our beauty industry is flourishing — all we need to do is consistently select the reliable ones,” he said.
