MANILA, Philippines — Actor Baron Geisler became the subject of online discussion after his wife, Jamie Evangelista, appeared to publicly urge him to seek help in a now-deleted Instagram comment.

The controversy began after Baron shared a collaborative Instagram post with an aesthetic clinic, showing him undergoing a facial treatment. Although Jamie's comment was later removed, screenshots circulated widely across social media and were picked up by several local media outlets.

In the deleted remark, Jamie wrote: "Find a drug rehabilitation sponsor who can help you address the root cause of your problems. I doubt a facial can heal that."

Jamie also posted a series of cryptic messages on her Instagram Stories, tagging Baron in the quotes about accountability and self-reflection.

"No one plays the victim better than the one who caused the damage," another Instagram Stories read. 

Another showed, "A person's capacity to change their life is directly linked to how much truth they can face about themselves without running away." 

The posts quickly fueled speculation among social media users, particularly because Baron has previously been candid about his struggles with drug and alcohol addiction. Some social media users speculated that the actor may have relapsed, although neither Baron nor Jamie has publicly confirmed such claims.

As of writing, however, the couple still follow each other on Instagram, and photos of one another — including family pictures — remain visible on their respective accounts.

The online buzz comes nearly a year after Baron opened up about his decades-long battle with substance abuse during a July 2025 interview with broadcaster Luchi Cruz-Valdes.

In the interview, the actor recalled being exposed to drugs and alcohol at an early age, saying feelings of insecurity, strict parenting, and the influence of older peers contributed to his addiction.

"I started drugs and alcohol at a very young age, 12, 13 or 14. At 14, I was doing hardcore drugs already... like meth. It's because I wanted to grow up so fast," Baron said.

He also reflected on how his upbringing shaped his behavior.

"There was a lot of parental control, but because of that parental control — I think abuse and the hitting — I would sneak out and join older groups of people and I really enjoyed the noise," he shared.

Baron admitted there were times when he used drugs before performing and eventually became addicted to the sense of power and entitlement that came with his lifestyle.

"I got addicted to that power, to the entitlement which I am not proud of," he said. "Now, it makes me sick remembering those times."

Prior to the recent social media posts, Baron had publicly credited Jamie, a psychologist, for supporting him throughout his recovery journey.

Baron and Jamie tied the knot in 2019 and welcomed their daughter, Talitha, in 2020.

Neither Baron nor Jamie has issued an official statement addressing the recent online speculation as of this writing.
