To empower barangay health workers, IFern Philippines has offered free livelihood opportunities through the FPJ Panday Bayanihan Party-List during the launching of the program in Barangay Palaming, San Carlos, Pangasinan on Jan. 25, 2025.

The program aimed to empower health workers by providing them with livelihood opportunities from IFern Philippines and solidifying a partnership that underscores the organization's commitment to public service through the initiative of the FPJ Panday Bayanihan Party-List.

The highlight of the event was the signing of a memorandum of agreement by Brian Poe Llamanzares, first nominee of the party-list, IFern Philippines and the Barangay Health Workers Federation of Pangasinan.

The agreement formalized the partnership designed to offer health workers in Pangasinan access to free IFern franchises, giving them an avenue to have a sustainable income.

The signing ceremony was attended by Alegria Almahano, president of the BHW Federation of Pangasinan; Marvin Casiño, IFern presidential director; lawyer Wilson Austria; and Councilor Lovely Lian Maramba, coordinator of FPJ Panday Bayanihan Party-List in Pangasinan.

Presidents of the barangay health workers organizations in Pangasinan were also present.

Almahano expressed gratitude for the initiative.

"He promised me that he will give us a livelihood for free. He paid the franchise. We are really thankful to Sir Brian (Llamanzares) for this opportunity, and hopefully the partnership with FPJ Panday Bayanihan Partylist continues," Almahano said.

Llamanzares shared his admiration for health workers and their vital role to the community, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Ang mga barangay health workers ay talagang malapit sa puso ko dahil noong pandemic, ang organization namin, ang FPJ Panday Bayanihan, ay tumutulong sa mga tao kasama ang mga Barangay Health Workers," Llamanzares said.

(Barangay health workers are really close to my heart because during the pandemic, they worked with our organization, the FPJ Panday Bayanihan, in helping the people in need)

He also assured the attendees that the party-list is sincere in its initiative.

"You don't have to pay anything. It's free so you can have additional opportunities to earn. So that you know that I am honest and will not pay you anything, what I am signing you is a deed of donation. That means, you received the franchise for free," he said.

The event, Llamanzares said, not only provides new livelihood opportunities but also symbolizes the first major step for the party-list in strengthening its presence in Pangasinan.

By offering tangible support to barangay health workers, the organization continues to uphold its commitment to improving the lives of Filipinos.

The event concluded with the hope that the collaboration among FPJ Panday Bayanihan, IFern, and the barangay health workers will further uplift the community. FREDERICK SILVERIO
