CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela — A 39-year-old head of a barangay here wanted for murder was arrested after he allegedly yielded shabu and a gun during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Cabiseria 14-16 on Sunday evening, police said on Monday.
Joseph Uy, barangay captain of Santa Isabel Sur here, was caught in possession of a sachet of shabu worth P6,800 and a 9 mm pistol with nine bullets, according to Cpt. Noralyn Andal, Ilagan City police spokesman.
Uy also yielded the P6,000 boodle buy-bust money.
Prior to the arrest, Uy has been under surveillance following reports of his drug-dealing activities.
He was previously placed under drug rehabilitation in February 2015 until August 2016 before he was eventually cleared later.

On Jan. 14 this year, Uy was arrested after shooting a villager identified as Reynaldo Terrenal after they argued over a personal matter.
He was indicted for frustrated murder but was allowed bail earlier. However, Terrenal died after two days, and the case was upgraded into murder, which required a regular filing.
