ANGELES CITY — The Association of Barangay Captains, led by its president Danilo Nacu, commended the groundbreaking initiative of Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. to install solar panels in all 33 barangay halls in the city.
Recognizing the long-term environmental and financial benefits of the panels that convert sunlight into electricity, Nacu thanked the administration of Lazatin for its "commitment to eco-friendly innovations aimed at improving local governance."
"We fully support this initiative and commend Mayor Lazatin's administration for prioritizing innovative and eco-friendly solutions for the city," said Nacu. "This project is a testament to the forward-thinking leadership that continues to benefit not only the barangay but the entire city of Angeles."
Barangay Mining captain Lester Hernandez, meanwhile, pointed out the impact it will have in reducing electricity cost.
Hernandez said that the savings generated from solar panels will enable the barangay to reallocate funds toward other essential services.

"On behalf of the barangay council, we express our sincere appreciation to Mayor Lazatin for this invaluable contribution to the community. Once again, thank you very much."
Likewise, Barangay Sto. Rosario chief Renato Cosme praised the initiative of the mayor, recognizing its dual purpose in both reducing electricity expenditures and promoting environmental sustainability.
"We deeply appreciate the leadership and vision of Mayor Lazatin, who continues to invest in projects that reduce costs and environmental impact," said Cosme. "This solar panel installation is a significant step toward a greener and more cost-efficient future for our barangay."
