BAGUIO CITY — The City Health Services Office Mental Health and Wellness Unit (CHSO-MHWU) continues to provide support and care to its clients, including psychotic vagrants in the Summer Capital.

Mental health and substance use coordinator Ricky Ducas Jr. said they have sustained the conduct of bathing and personal hygiene sessions as part of the interventions to address the clients' immediate needs.

"This initiative aims to ensure our clients' well-being, promote dignity and improve their overall condition," Ducas said.

During the sessions, patients are given proper grooming assistance by the MHWU staff.

They are given baths, clean clothing and personal hygiene care to help restore a sense of comfort and self-worth, according to Ducas.

He said the sessions also give their office the opportunity to assess the physical health of the clients and their medical requirements.

Aside from these sessions, the office also works on reinforcing the importance of medication adherence and routine care among their clients.

Efforts are also sustained to coordinate with the families especially the roamers and those estranged with their loved ones.

"In cases where families cannot be traced, the office explores sustainable support options to prevent further wandering and ensure long-term stability," Ducas said.
