BAGUIO CITY — The city government spearheaded by the City Planning, Development and Sustainability Office (CPDSO) under Arch. Donna Tabangin has finalized the Summer Capital's Voluntary Local Review (VLR) through a validation workshop on March 18, 2025, here.
Representatives from various government agencies, including civil society organizations, academe, youth, and other sectors joined the activity, done in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)-Philippines.
"This collaborative effort not only validated the city's progress but established a strong foundation for collective action toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)," said Tabangin.
CPDSO Economist III Micaela Rimando said the workshop yielded valuable results, including enriched data collection for the final report, stakeholder-development implementation recommendations, and strengthened community ownership of the VLR process.
A VLR reveals the standing of a sub-national government unit regarding the SDGs and their targets, allowing the identification of priority areas where actions are most needed.
