Academic journals from the Ateneo de Manila University being donated to the Quezon City Public Library
Ateneo de Manila University
MANILA, Philippines — The Ateneo de Manila University donated almost a hundred selected journals to the Quezon City Public Library as part of the school's efforts to bring academic work to more public spaces.
The university had previously donated a curated collection of academic journals touching on Philippine history, culture, society and interdisciplinary studies to SM North EDSA's Book Nook.
Donations of similar topics were given to the Quezon City Public Library, including renowned publications "Perspective in the Arts and Humanities," "Budhi: A Journal of Ideas and Culture," "Social Transformations: Journal of the Global South," Journal of Management for Global Sustainability," and "Philippine Studies: Historical and Ethnographic Viewpoints."
Like the items donated to Book Nook, these academic journals — the most recent from within the last six years — will be available for free to the public.
Both the Ateneo and the Quezon City Public Library share a vision of fostering a culture of reading, inquiry, and informed discussion
The turnover highlighted a shared vision between the University and the public library: to foster a culture of reading, inquiry and informed discussion.
Representatives from both parties emphasized the value of collaboration in making research outputs more relevant and meaningful to diverse audiences.
