MANILA, Philippines — Filipinos will have a glimpse into another part of the world with the anticipated launch of the very first Portal sculpture in Asia this week.

Portals Organization announced its sixth sculpture will be located at the 5th Avenue in Bonifacio High Street in Taguig City. It will be unveiled on January 21 at 6 p.m.

Similar to the other five locations, the Manila Portal will provide round-the-clock livestream that connects to other portals in the world. These are located in Vilnius (Lithuania), Lublin (Poland), Dublin (Ireland), Philadelphia (United States), and Ipswich (United Kingdom).

“The opening of our first Portal in Asia is a powerful and exciting moment for us. Bringing the Portal to BGC in Manila - a city known for genuine warmth and deep sense of human connection - expands our vision of a world connected not by borders, but by direct human encounter. We cannot wait to welcome Filipinos into this shared global experience,” said Portals Organization founder Benediktas Gylys said in a statement.

Gylys said the Portals do not just connect two countries. They are sculptures that form a global network that acts as a bridge to a “united planet,” rotating in between its multiple locations.

Apart from Manila, it is also opening another portal to Brazil’s Piaui.

The organization was inaugurated in 2021. Based in Vilnius and Berlin, it works with cities, governments and private organizations to build the Portal scupltures worldwide.
