MANILA, Philippines — The Ascott Limited Philippines proudly celebrates another significant achievement after being recognized at the recently concluded Le Trophée Bleu Sustainability Award organized by the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Philippines.

At the awards ceremony held last November, the Ascott Philippines team received the People Category Award for their transformative project, Seeds for Hope, which continues to inspire communities to create meaningful and sustainable impact.

Seeds for Hope is a nationwide tree-planting activity led by Ascott Philippines, through its properties in Luzon and Visayas. The program aims to rehabilitate critical areas affected by deforestation and urban development, including Barangay Buhisan in Cebu, Barangay Panuran in Iloilo, Barangay Felisa in Bacolod, and Barangay Payatas in Quezon City in Metro Manila.

It’s a transformative initiative designed to address the environmental, social and economic challenges brought about by deforestation, climate change and rapid urbanization.

In Iloilo, volunteers from Citadines Amigo Iloilo visited a sub-watershed of the Jalaur River and planted 200 saplings to support the river’s ecosystem and reinforce land stability. On the other hand, 100 trees were planted by the employees, partners and guests of Citadines Bacolod City using fertilizer derived from the property’s own food waste.

Citadines Cebu City and lyf Cebu City joined hands with CarbonPH to plant 50 indigenous trees at the site of Buhisan Dam to support flood mitigation efforts through its surrounding watershed. In Metro Manila, the property teams at Ascott Philippines gathered 60 volunteers to plant 85 native saplings in Payatas, Quezon City, in partnership with Rural Rising.

The group, through its sustainability arm, Ascott CARES, continues to integrate sustainability in every aspect of its operations worldwide. Anchored on the five essential pillars—Community, Alliance, Respect, Environment and Supply Chain, Ascott CARES is committed to driving meaningful change and positively impacting the future of travel.

Now in its fourth year, Le Trophée Bleu Business Sustainability Awards aims to honor and recognize companies for their incredible commitment to sustainability and excellent best practices across five dimensions: People, Planet, Partnership, Peace and Prosperity.
