AS part of its golden anniversary series celebrating 50 years of advertising self-regulation in the Philippines, the Ad Standards Council (ASC) held its second tribute event on May 15 at Makati Diamond Residences, honoring "The Nurturers" — pioneers who championed the continuity and integrity of the country's self-regulatory framework.

Supported by its seven member associations — 4As PH, DMAP, KBP, MSAP, PANA, UPMG, and OHAAP — the ASC recognized individuals whose unwavering advocacy strengthened the pillars of truth, honesty, and fairness in Philippine advertising.

This year's honorees ensured the longevity of self-governance in the industry, fostering public trust and reinforcing the sector's duty to serve both brands and consumers. From its roots in the Philippine Board of Advertising to the present-day ASC, the evolution of self-regulation was driven by the foundational work of the AdBoard's ACRC and TPCC committees.

"The industry today owes everything to the pioneers and nurturers who made it flourish," said ASC Executive Director Robbie Aligada. "We continue this journey in service of consumer rights and fair competition."

The event featured the Alon Medallion, designed by Dante Dizon, symbolizing the industry's transformation and unity under self-regulation.

"This celebration is for the next generation," added Jun Nicdao, 50th anniversary chairman. "We pay it forward."
