The names in the ILBO were based on the list provided by whistle-blower Julie “Dondon” Patidongan alias “Totoy,” whose sworn affidavit was reportedly among the primary bases of the relatives of the missing sabungeros in filing a complaint of multiple murder and illegal detention against Ang, several police officials and other people who supposedly belong to Ang’s “Alpha Group.”

MANILA, Philippines — Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla on Thursday, January 15, labeled businessman Atong Ang as the Philippines' "number one most wanted," after being the only remaining individual among the 18 co-accused in the "missing sabungeros" case who has yet to be taken into custody.
"Kasama po si Atong Ang siguro maituturing natin na number one most wanted sa buong Pilipinas ngayon. He’s accused of killing over 100 missing sabungeros and he is considered armed and dangerous," Remulla said. (Atong Ang can probably be considered the number one most wanted in the entire Philippines today.)
Remulla added that a P10-million bounty is being offered for any credible information and tips that could lead to Ang’s arrest. "Any information that could lead to the conclusive arrest of Atong Ang will merit a P10-million award," he said.
Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Director Robert Alexander Morico II also confirmed that Ang is the sole target of the police manhunt, with authorities exercising utmost caution given that he is likely armed.
He said six firearms were registered under Ang’s name, all of which the Philippine National Police (PNP) revoked on Thursday, along with his license to own and possess firearms.
The Interior secretary also described Ang as "armed and dangerous," saying he usually travels with at least 20 bodyguards and is known to respond violently to confrontations with law enforcement.
"Ibig sabihin, gagawin ng pulis ang lahat para proteksyunan ang sarili nila sa kakayahan ni Atong Ang," he added. (This means, the police will exhaust all means to protect themselves against the capabilities of Atong Ang.)
A total of 320,000 PNP personnel have been deployed nationwide in search of Ang, Remulla said. He assured, however, that the manhunt will be conducted without any extrajudicial killings.
The search for Ang came after the 10 police officers and seven civilians allegedly involved were arrested on Wednesday, January 14, following the issuance of warrants for non-bailable charges of homicide, kidnapping and serious illegal detention just a day before.
While there are no reports of Ang leaving the Philippines, Morico said the CIDG has requested Interpol’s National Central Bureau in the Philippines to issue a red notice should he try to escape through backdoor channels.
Ang faces allegations of masterminding the disappearance of at least 34 cockfighting enthusiasts called "sabungeros" in Filipino.
