Manila Electric Company’s (Meralco) local retail electricity unit has renewed its partnership with the Araneta group for its properties in Quezon City.

In a statement on Thursday, March 27, MPower reported that it had renewed its retail electricity supply deal with ACI, Inc. and a new contract with Araneta Hotels to provide power to its new hotel, ibis Styles Manila.

The renewal of its 11-year collaboration will also strengthen its commitment to the Araneta group, which has been one of MPower’s pioneer partners since 2013.

“In 2018, MPower was also tapped to supply electricity to Araneta Hotels. Today, most of the properties benefit from MPower’s tailored products and services under the Competitive Retail Electricity Market (CREM),” MPower stated.

CREM program allows businesses to choose their power supplier if their electricity demand is around 500 kilowatts (kW).

Maria Manlulu-Garcia, general manager of Novotel and ibis Styles Manila, assured that this collaboration will help them stay committed to their customer service and operations.

“Our long-time partnership with MPower secures a reliable energy supply across our multiple properties, allowing us to deliver the highest level of service to our guests,” she added.

Redel Domingo, first vice president and head of MPower, added, “The enduring partnership and trust given to us in powering Araneta City inspire MPower to continuously explore new avenues for growth and innovation, ensuring we deliver even greater value to our partners.”

ACI currently owns and manages Araneta City, which is a dynamic hub of retail, entertainment, residential, and office spaces, while Araneta Hotels has hospitality ventures within the district in Quezon City.

So far this year, MPower has partnered with Megasoft Hygienic Products, Inc. and Mega Land Prime Estate Corp., Pioneer Highlands South Condominium, SM Retail, and ABS-CBN for their electricity supply deals.

As a local retail electricity supplier, MPower has more than 25 percent share of the competitive retail electricity market within Meralco’s franchise area.
