MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan, Philippines — Another church in San Miguel town reported having been burglarized on Black Saturday, losing its chalice, monstrance and crucifix to thieves.

Fr. Lou Salvador Jess de Silva, parish priest of the Parokya ng Mahal na Birheng Mapanglunas in Barangay Sibul Springs, confirmed on social media that the items were taken from their church.

“The stolen sacred items are part of the spiritual rituals during holy mass,” de Silva said in the post.

He appealed to people to inform church officials if they have information on the stolen items, as he asked for its return to the church.

De Silva asked parishioners to join in prayer for the return of the items and to be alert in preserving the sacredness of the church.

Maj. Jaynalyn Udal, Bulacan provincial police information officer, said investigators are conducting tracking operations.

Earlier, the Diocesan Shrine and Parish Church of San Miguel Arcangel reported that the silver wings, shield, spear and sword of their patron saint were stolen.

Bulacan 3rd District Rep. Mark Cholo Violago and San Miguel Mayor John Alvarez has put up a total of P600,000 reward money for information leading to the return of the stolen items.
