MANILA, Philippines — An Interpol “red notice” is now out for fugitive gaming tycoon Charlie “Atong” Ang, who was spotted in Calabarzon about two weeks ago, Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla said yesterday.
Remulla said Calabarzon was the last known location of Ang, who is wanted for the kidnapping and murder of cockfight enthusiasts or sabungeros.
To avoid arrest, Ang does not stay in one place for a long period of time, Remulla said.
“He travels in a small group. There are only three of them and they always move from one house to another,” Remulla told GMA News.
Remulla was part of an operation last week that pursued Ang at his hideout in an undisclosed province. However, Ang eluded arrest, leaving a day ahead of the raid.
Despite evading the police, Remulla is confident that Ang has not fled the country.
Ang is facing three arrest warrants issued by Batangas and Laguna courts.
