Ang’s daughter named SMFB chief finance officer

MANILA, Philippines — Monica Ang-Mercado, daughter of tycoon Ramon Ang, is taking over the role of chief finance officer (CFO) of listed San Miguel Food and Beverage Inc. (SMFB).

SMFB announced yesterday the appointment of Ang-Mercado as its new CFO, replacing Ildefonso Alindogan.

The company has also appointed Emmanuel Macalalag as the new chief operating officer of its food business, replacing Francisco Alejo III.

SMFB said that the changes were made in line with San Miguel Corp. (SMC)’s management reorganization.

Ang-Mercado has a Bachelor of Science degree in Management, Minor in Enterprise Development from the Ateneo de Manila University.

She is the CFO and treasurer of Eagle Cement Corp. and serves as director in various companies.

SMFB, the food and beverage arm of SMC, delivered strong financial results in the first three quarters of 2024 with significant growth registered across all business segments.

Through strategic investments in its brands, cost management and by adapting to market trends, SMFB is building resilience and setting the stage for long-term growth.

SMFB also serves as partners in nation-building by ensuring that its products and initiatives contribute to economic progress and community support.
