Alma Moreno gives sons, Vandolph and Yeoj, advice on being public servants.
Alma Moreno shared the advice she has been giving her sons, Vandolph Quizon and Yeoj Marquez, who are also into politics.
The veteran actress, who served as councilwoman of Barangay Tambo in Parañaque City, supported the campaign of Yeoj who ran as 1st District Councilor in this year’s midterm elections. Vandolph, on the other hand, is on his last term as Parañaque City councilor in the same district.
Yeoj is Alma’s son with Joey Marquez while Vandolph is her son with the late comedy king, Dolphy.
'Para sa Isa’t Isa' is a light -hearted romantic drama directed by Easy Ferrer (leftmost) starring Krissha Viaje and Jerome Ponce (second from right and rightmost, respectively). In the upcoming series, Alma portrays Dina, the mom of Jerome's character.
“Patapos na si Van (term) while my other son, Yeoj is running as councilor. I always remind them to have a big heart for other people. You have to be true, totoong serbisyo, you are a public servant, ikaw ang maglilingkod, hindi ikaw ang paglilingkuran… And don’t change,” she shared to The STAR in an interview after the storycon of TV5’s upcoming series “Para sa Isa’t Isa” held a few days before the elections yesterday, May 12.
Amid her commitments as actress and politician, Alma was the one who spearheaded the campaign of Yeoj. “Time management,” she replied when asked how she’s been balancing her tight schedule. “Busy, as in. But I’m thankful that I have this ‘Para sa Isa’t Isa.’ It’s a great help because marami rin akong matutulungan.”
To manage her time, Alma would ask her taping schedule ahead because she also attends sessions in Brgy. Tambo as councilwoman.
She stressed that being a public servant is her priority over showbiz. “My priority is my duty as kagawad. (The acting project) is my sideline now because I signed a contract with Viva under Boss Vic (del Rosario).”

Alme beamed as she said that she feels fulfilled being a public servant because she gets to help people. “It’s a good feeling because you get to help a lot of people. Whether it’s a small or big aid, the feeling na nakatulong ka, ang sarap sa pakiramdam.”
Meanwhile, “Para sa Isa’t Isa” is a light -hearted romantic drama series directed by Easy Ferrer starring Krissha Viaje and Jerome Ponce. Alma portrays the latter’s mother Dina.
She is thrilled to be in the series and it will be her first time to work with Jerome as her son. She noted the chemistry of onscreen partners Krissha and Jerome. “They’re cute. Bagay sila,” she commented.
