MANILA, Philippines — Two more suspects in the kidnapping and murder of Filipino-Chinese steel magnate Anson Que and his driver were arrested at a high-end Boracay resort in Malay, Aklan on Saturday.

According to a security official who spoke on the condition of anonymity, Wenli Gong, who has a P5-million government bounty on her head, was apprehended with another suspect, Wu Ja Ping.

Gong is considered one of the alleged masterminds of Que’s killing.

Joint teams from the police and military were involved in the operation.

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil is set to hold a press briefing to announce the arrests, the source said.

Gong, also known as Kelly Tan Lim, was the main ransom negotiator in Que’s kidnapping, the source also said.

She was also reportedly in control of the e-wallets used in laundering the P200 million ransom money Que’s family paid to his captors.

The PNP earlier said Gong was the woman who lured Que and his driver Armanie Pabillo to a house in Meycauayan, Bulacan where they were held captive and killed.

The source did not disclose details of Wu’s role in Que’s kidnapping and execution.
