Aminado si Alfred Vargas na hindi niya inasahan ang "double victory" niya at ng kanyang kapatid na si Patrick Michael "PM" Vargas sa kani-kanilang reelection bids sa lungsod ng Quezon City nitong nagdaang Eleksyon 2025.
Ayon sa partial unofficial results mula sa Comelec Media Server (as of May 14, 2025), pumapangatlo sa listahan si Alfred Vargas ng mga napipintong maging konsehal ng 5th District ng Quezon City. Ito na ang kanyang pangalawang termino bilang konsehal.
Ang kanyang kapatid na si PM Vargas wagi naman bilang kongresista na kakatawan sa parehong 5th Legislative District ng Quezon City.
Una sa naging challenges na kinaharap umano ni Alfred ay ang laganap na "fake news" and "disinformation" noong campaign season.
"To be honest, medyo mahirap talaga ang laban namin na ito. We had to battle massive disinformation and fake news, deal with several threats and ensure our physical safety," sulat ni Alfred sa kanyang mensahe para sa GMANetwork.com. "We endured countless dirty tactics during the campaign and had to face the reality that our opponent had 'unlimited' resources. So, no, we didn't expect it. We hoped for the best but prepared for the worst. With God's grace and the people's love and support, we got the best possible result."
Bagamat nagkaroon rin ng hindi kaayang-ayang pangyayari sa loob at labas ng kanilang grupo, pinipili na lang ni Alfred na pagtuunan ang mga taong nagtiwala sa kaniya. Naniniwala rin ang aktor na ang kanyang track record ang bumuhat sa kanyang pangalan.
"That performance is still the best campaign. And that people know if you are real and sincere in what you do," sabi ni Alfred. "This win is very special for me and my brother because we really felt the love of our supporters who fought for us, tooth and nail… blood, sweat and tears! Despite experiencing several, and even unexpected, betrayals and treachery, we saw that a lot more people were really loyal to our cause and were willing to fight for the truth and stand for our principles."
Kahit na confident si Alfred na positive ang magiging resulta ng kanyang kampanya, hindi rin maitatanggi ng award-winning actor na nakaramdam siya ng kaba noong mga unang oras na nagsimula na ang bilangan.
"I was a quite nervous at first but right after I prayed, the results started coming out and the trend was going a little bit our way and after that pinagpasaDiyos ko na lahat."
Ano ang reaksyon ng AraBella, Encantadia, and Pieta star noong mga panahon na napagtanto niya na siguradong pasok na siya sa magic six sa kaniyang distrito? Niyakap niya ang kaniyang pamilya: ang asawa niyang si Yasmine Espiritu at mga anak nilang sina Alexandra Milan, Aryana Cassandra, Alfredo Cristiano, at Baby Aurora Sofia.
"I thanked them immensely, especially my wife. My family has sacrificed so much to support me these last 15 years in public service. So much of my time was spent serving others and sometimes, at the expense of my time with my family. But they understood me all the way and knew how much passion I had in trying to effect positive change. I have achieved so much because my wife and children supported me and for that, I am immensely grateful."

Looking forward na si Alfred Vargas na magtrabaho at maipagpatuloy ang kaniyang mga proyekto para sa kanyang distrito. Isa na riyan ang kanyang programang pang-edukasyon.
"Starting this July, we will start rolling out our 'Alagang Vargas Scholarship Program 2.0, level up!' This educational assistance program aims to provide one scholar for every Novaleño family. Isang pamilya, may isang iskolar. This scholarship is for elementary, high school and college levels and there is no grade requirement. Basta pasado ka, pasado ka na rin sa program! The scholarship will continue until the student graduates from college.
"So far, we have 20,000++ college graduate scholars already who are now accountants, managers, engineers, teachers, nurses and even elected barangay officials, among others!"
Bilang isang public servant, ilan sa mga republic act na isinulong ni Alfred Vargas sa kongreso ang Republic Act 11215, o ang National Integrated Cancer Control Act (NICCA) at RA 10931 o Iskolar ng Bayan Act of 2015 na naglalayong magbigay ng scholarship grants sa top graduates na galing sa public high schools ng state universities at colleges.
