Miss Eco International 2025 and the Philippines’ very own Alexie Brooks revealed that she observed a series of remarkable signs in the lead-up to securing her crown in Egypt.
During her first media conference on Thursday after returning to the Philippines, Alexie said that she was taking notes of her observations as early as January, noticing occurrences that were more than mere coincidence.
One of the most compelling alignments involved the host country of the pageant itself, Egypt.
Alexie shared a personal detail about never having met her father but knowing he was a musician who had a band in Lebanon.
“Their lead singer was an Egyptian guy, which apparently, he was the only one that I can find online. And you know, I tried reaching out but he was very popular in Egypt that it’s hard for me to reach out. So the only way for me maybe to communicate to him is if I try visiting Egypt later on and so on, and I realized, ‘Oh my God. I’m competing in Egypt.’ So that was one of it,” Alexie said.
Another deep connection Alexie felt was linked to her personal history and roots.
“Later, I realized na parang sabi ko it made sense ‘cause, ‘yun nga, I grew up in a generational farmer family and Miss Eco is just a way of me of promoting this. It is very important for me kasi I grew up—it is true [that] when I was in a young age, I would sell fruits and vegetables,” she said.
The Ilongga beauty queen called farming her family’s bread and butter.
“I realized all of these things are just really alignment,” she said.
The pageant was also held in the city of Alexandria, which is close to Alexie’s name.
“A lot of things pa. And I was listing it down and I was talking to Tito Jerry about this. Sabi niya, ‘Baka Alexie sa ‘yo na nga.’ But ‘yun nga, I don’t wanna jinx it and I don’t want to think about it so much up until dalawa na lang kami ni Indonesia natira,” she said.
Reflecting on the entire experience, Alexie touched on the concept of manifestation.
“It made me happy and scared at the same time that manifestation is actually really real, that just because some things don’t work out for you doesn’t mean that greater things won’t come along. So I think it's really important for us to understand some things really fail, some things don’t work out, kasi eventually the ones that we need the most, we can give off the most, will come to us eventually,” Alexie said.
Following her win, Alexie honored her late grandmother, Lola Basing, and also expressed her heartfelt gratitude to those who supported her in her journey.
Aside from the title, Alexie also won the National Costume competition with her Philippine Eagle-inspired costume designed by Tata Pinuela.
