Qualifiers are ongoing, and main-draw action begins August 30.
Eala, currently at a career-best No. 18 in the WTA rankings, is making her second women’s main-draw appearance at the US Open, where she is also a former girls’ Grand Slam champion.
Should Eala advance to the second round anew, she will face the winner between Oleksandra Oliynykova and Reese Brantmeier, a wildcard.
Also in her section of the draw are No. 14 seed Iva Jovic, who takes on Magdalena Fręch, and Magda Linette, who also faces a qualifier in the first round.
Last year, the Filipino tennis ace reached the Round of 64 after beating Clara Tauson in a breakthrough Grand Slam win.
